An Egyptian actor who specializes in comedic roles. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Alexandria University.
During his studies at university, he joined the acting troupe in Alexandria, where he participated in many plays. He came to Cairo in 1968, and then he made his cinematic debut in 1971 through the movie (My Wife and the Dog), where he became famous after that, participating in dozens of works in cinema, theater, and television.
Among his most prominent works are (Muhammad Ali Street, Al-Mal wal-Banoun, Khula’s Lawyer, Sayyed Al-Atefi, Ayez Haqqi).
He died in January 2013 after a long illness at the age of 73.
He was married three times, and his first marriage was to the artist Olfat Sukkar.
He has two sons (Ashraf and Nasser), both of whom work in art.
The day of his death coincided with the same day of the death of the artist Nabil Al-Hegrasy.
Six films in which the artist Wahid Seif participated were selected in the list of the 100 best films in the history of Egyptian cinema according to the critics’ poll in 1996: My Wife and the Dog 1971, Take Care of Zuzu 1972, I Want a Solution 1975, Karnak 1975, The Sinners 1976, and The Bus Driver 1983.
