Imra'a Dalla al-Tariq is an Egyptian social drama about Ahmed, a kind-hearted man who takes pity on Amal, a divorced woman struggling to get by, helps her find work, and eventually marries her. Their modest happiness is upended when his wealthy friend Adel begins pursuing Amal, and she — dazzled by his riches — reciprocates. When Ahmed refuses her demand for divorce and later discovers the affair, he plots revenge. The film is a morality tale about greed, betrayal, and the devastating consequences of choices made for the wrong reasons, delivered in a classic Egyptian melodrama register.
