Overview

Devil's Way is an Egyptian social drama film that follows a young woman working as a hotel waitress who is harassed and ultimately dismissed after refusing to comply with her manager's inappropriate demands. Meanwhile, the cunning Abu Farwa, played by Wahid Saif, and his wife Fekha, played by Mimi Jamal, run a criminal operation that exploits children in pickpocketing and begging across the city. When the young woman's mother falls seriously ill and requires an expensive operation, financial desperation pushes her toward Abu Farwa's world of theft and exploitation. The film is a stark portrait of poverty, vulnerability, and the moral compromises that hardship can force upon ordinary people in Egyptian society.
