Overview

Al-Osta Mahrous is an Egyptian social drama that follows Mahrous, a principled working-class man who defies his mother's objections to marry his divorced neighbor Zaynab. On their wedding day, Zaynab's abusive ex-husband attempts to harass her and Mahrous kills him in her defense, resulting in a three-year prison sentence. Upon his release, deeper schemes come to light as it emerges that a manipulative figure has been exploiting Zaynab to advance criminal dealings, forcing both her and Mahrous to join forces against him. A compelling Egyptian drama about honor, justice, and the protection of women's dignity within a vivid popular neighborhood setting.
