Into this simmering class conflict steps Mohsen, who pours his energy — and sacrifices his education — into reviving his late father's tannery. But mounting debts and Khalil's stranglehold on the trade place Mohsen's dream under constant threat, drawing a vivid portrait of struggle and exploitation.
