Overview
Banat Haretna is an Egyptian comedy film starring Boussy, Elham Shaheen, and Dalal Abdel Aziz as Aziza, Gamalat, and Lawahez — three inseparable friends from a working-class neighborhood who earn their living in the informal bag trade. After a falling-out with their employer, Mrs. Nazaga, the trio is manipulated by a notorious trader and her associate Harbi into traveling to Europe under the guise of buying evening gowns. Unbeknownst to the women, drugs are planted in their luggage, and they are eventually arrested during one of the trips. The film combines sharp social humor with a cautionary tale about trust and exploitation.
