Ana Illi Astahel (I Deserve It) is an Egyptian comedy-drama in which Salah's consuming jealousy drives him to divorce his beloved wife Elham for the third and final time under Islamic law — leaving him unable to remarry her without an intervening husband. His solution: recruit the seemingly dim-witted stable hand Gomaa as a proxy husband who will quickly agree to a divorce. Elham reluctantly goes along with the arrangement. But Gomaa refuses to let her go, sending Salah into a frenzy. While Salah travels to Cairo to consult a lawyer and loses his money gambling, Elham discovers that Gomaa is no fool — he is in fact a once-celebrated lawyer who lost his own fortune at the gambling table. A sharp comic farce that turns a religious legal loophole into a richly layered story.
