His Sisters is an Egyptian social drama centred on Mohsen, an older brother who believes it is his right — and duty — to control the lives of his three sisters: Karima, who has abandoned her education and stays home; Laila, studying at the Faculty of Arts; and Souad, a high-school student with a passion for folk dancing. While he attempts to dictate the direction of each sister's life, Mohsen also pursues his own dream of marrying his beloved Nawal. The film examines patriarchal family dynamics with a critical eye, questioning whether love and authority can coexist without stifling those closest to us.
