Esaad Younes

She is an Egyptian actress, writer, broadcaster, and producer. She was born in Cairo in 1950. She obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Tourism Guidance Institute, during her university studies, specifically in the first year of the Tourism Institute in 1968. She applied to work on the radio in the European program, and then worked as an assistant in the Middle East program. Then she trained until she became a broadcaster presenting air programs. She married the artist (Nabil Al-Hagrasi), and met Samir Ghanem on an occasion. In her presence with her husband, who gave her the opportunity to act through the series (Mizo), which was her first work in the field of acting in 1977, to participate in the same year in five other works, including the movie (Prayer of the Oppressed), while she went through the experience of writing for the first time in 1985 through the movie (The Crazy One), then the series (The Night of the Arrest of Bakiza and Zaghloul) in 1987, which was turned into a movie the following year, which achieved great success. She went through the experience of television presenting through She presented the program (Free Space) on the Orbit channel network in the 1990s, then repeated the experience by presenting the program (Her Excellency) in 2014. She established (the Arab Film Production and Distribution Company) in 2000 with the participation of her husband, the businessman (Alaa Al-Khawaja). Among the most prominent works that she participated in producing are (Alzheimer’s, Messages of the Sea, and Sahar Al-Layali), while her most prominent works as an actress include (Shaaban Below Zero, O Lord, O Men of the World, Unite). An initiative was launched entitled “The Front for Defending Freedom of Expression and the Right to Knowledge,” in which it called on all authors, directors, musicians, poets, artists, scholars, dancers, and visual artists to be present within the committee that will draft the constitution to ensure the preservation of freedom of creativity and expression. At the beginning of her post-graduate career, she worked in the field of tourism in English and German. She has many experiences in singing, and some of the songs she recorded with her voice include: (Abu Zaiza’, ‘Ala Kada Al-Layl’, and ‘Pianoola’) Her son (Omar) holds her husband's Jordanian citizenship. A problem occurred to her at the beginning of her artistic career when she translated and dramatized a novel by Agatha Christie, but it was written incorrectly that it was written by (Esaad Younes), which caused her a major problem. Before the error was corrected, she wrote a weekly article in (Al-Masry Al-Youm) newspaper. In 2000, director Medhat El-Sibai accused her of monopolizing the ancient artistic heritage, so she filed a lawsuit against him for defamation, in which she was acquitted in November 2001. Her father died when she was twelve years old. He was a pilot in the Revolutionary Command Center and worked for a period as director of EgyptAir. She is married to the Jordanian businessman (Alaa Al-Khawaja), who is also married to the artist (Sherihan). She was the wife of the late artist Nabil Al-Hegrasy, who is the father of her daughter, Nourhan. Issaad Younes is the daughter of actress and singer Kawkab Sadiq and her aunt, singer Badia Sadiq. Issaad Younes has two sisters: Ahlam Younes and the Mu’tazila singer Iman Younes.
