God Save Gomaa is an Egyptian stage comedy following Jumah, an ordinary impoverished man who unexpectedly inherits a fortune from a relative living abroad. News of his windfall quickly attracts dangerous interest — a wealthy television producer begins courting him with suspiciously generous intentions, concealing a deadly scheme beneath a veneer of generosity. As Jumah navigates a world of manipulation and greed he is ill-equipped for, his life hangs in the balance. The play blends broad comedy with dark undertones, using Jumah's naïve goodness as a lens to expose the moral corruption lurking beneath Cairo's social surface.
