Samiha Ayoub

An Egyptian actress, born in the Shubra neighborhood in Cairo. She graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1953, where she studied under theatrical artist Zaki Tulaimat. Her credit on stage throughout her artistic career amounted to approximately 170 plays, including (Rabaa Al-Adawiya, Safety Railway, Blood on the Curtains of the Kaaba, Agha Mamnoun, and The Caucasian Chalk Circle). Although theatrical works dominated the majority of her artistic work, she had many participations in cinema and television. In cinema, she distinguished herself through several films, including (Land of Hypocrisy, The Dawn of Islam, With Happiness, Among the Ruins), and in television she presented many prominent works, the most important of which were (The Stray Light, The Time of Roses, A Princess in Abdeen, and Al-Masrawiya). She received many honors from several presidents, including Gamal Abdel Nasser and Anwar Sadat, as well as Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and Frenchman Giscard d'Estaing.
