The Safe Road is an Arabic stage play that traps a diverse group of passengers on a bus lost deep in the desert. As hunger and thirst push them toward the edge of survival, each passenger confronts their own sins and shortcomings, making dramatic vows to reform if they make it out alive. The play uses the desert as a crucible for examining human nature, asking whether crisis truly changes people or whether repentance is merely a reflex of fear — and whether the promises made in extremity survive the return to ordinary life.
