Overview
Qalby Yahwak is a classic Egyptian romantic drama centered on Souad, the daughter of a prosperous merchant who is in love with Ahmed, a young man employed by her father. Overruled by her father's wishes, Souad is forced into a marriage with a teacher named Sayed — a union she never wanted. She endures the hardships of an unhappy married life until fate intervenes when her husband is involved in an accident during his travels. The film is a tender and melancholy portrait of suppressed love, arranged marriage, and the unpredictable turns of destiny that can upend a person's entire world.
