Mohsen Hassanein

An Egyptian actor, born in Alexandria on February 15, 1916 AD. He was raised by his father, who worked as a tailor, but he did not like this profession. Rather, he loved art and acting and left his family to escape from them. He had seven brothers and sisters. He was nineteen years old at the time, but he was exposed to harsh living crises. He tasted poverty and slept on the sidewalk in the streets of Cairo. One day, he went to the (Al-Qasabgy) Casino and met someone there. The actor (Abdel Moneim Ismail) mediated for him to enter the world of acting. Mohsen Hassanein participated in more than 190 works, starting in 1937 in the movie (Salameh fi Khair) and continuing for 30 years in which he participated in many cinematic, television and theater works. Most of his roles were in the role of a gangster. Despite the short range of his appearances and their lack of diversity, he attracted attention with his sharp features, natural performance, and incarnation of evil, and he became one of the most famous performers of secondary roles in Egyptian cinema. Among his most important works are: (Exit from Paradise, Struggle in the Valley, Al-Fatwa, Kidnapping My Wife, The Poor Millionaire, The Green Threshold, Antar and Pullab, Half a Year’s Vacation) and many others. He also participated in some plays, including (Except Five, Hassan, Murqos, and Cohen, Once Upon a Time in Myself), and on television he participated in the series (Closed Doors, and the Bitter Honey series). The artist Mohsen Hassanein died on September 19, 1978, at the age of 62.
