When Hassem falls for Leila, a slave belonging to his father's business partner, he seeks to marry her. His journey eventually leads him to Mecca, where an encounter with the Prophet Muhammad profoundly transforms him. Embracing Islam, Hassem returns to his tribe as a changed man — only to face the fierce opposition of his father, who sees the new religion as a direct threat to his power and way of life.
