Land of Hypocrisy, is a 1968 Egyptian movie, directed by Fatin Abdel Wahab, and starring Fouad Al-Mohandes, Shwikar, Samiha Ayoub. with a runtime of 120 minutes.
Land of Hypocrisy is a classic Egyptian social comedy with a satirical philosophical edge. Masoud Abu Al-Saad is an ordinary government employee stumbling through life's frustrations when he stumbles upon a bizarre shop that sells human virtues. Finding that good morals are sold out, he purchases what remains — only to discover that honesty and decency cost him dearly in a corrupt world. Forced to adapt, he buys hypocrisy instead, and with that commodity in hand he climbs the professional ladder with startling ease. The film is a biting indictment of social corruption and the premium Egyptian bureaucratic society places on appearances over integrity.
Land of Hypocrisy is a 1968 Egyptian comedy-drama film by Fatin Abdel Wahab. It is based on Yusuf Sibai's novel of the same name. The novel was previously depicted in the 1950 Egyptian film Virtue for Sale.
