Overview
Appointment with Happiness is an Egyptian drama film that confronts a devastating social reality. Ehsan lives quietly with her father, the caretaker of a wealthy man's countryside estate. When the landowner visits for a hunting trip, Ehsan finds herself drawn to him — but the encounter takes a dark turn when he rapes her while drunk. Alone, pregnant, and facing a society that offers her no refuge, Ehsan flees to Cairo to give birth to her daughter in secret. The film is a courageous portrait of a wronged woman navigating shame, survival, and motherhood in a world that too often punishes victims rather than perpetrators.
