Malaekat el-Shaware, is a 1985 Egyptian movie, directed by Hasan El-Saifi, and starring Athar ElHakim, Mamdouh Abdelalim, Shoukry Sarhan. with a runtime of 110 minutes.
Malaekat el-Shaware (Angels of the Streets) is a classic Egyptian social drama that examines the brutal cost of class hierarchy on the lives of ordinary people. Sherifa, daughter of a powerful Pasha, falls in love with Adel, the driver's son, and the two marry against all social convention, welcoming their daughter Fatima into the world. But the Pasha, unwilling to tolerate the union, uses his authority to force a divorce, and the consequences fall hardest on the innocent child — Fatima is sent to a reformatory, severed from her mother's love. The film is a poignant indictment of a society where wealth and status override human bonds, and where children pay the price for the sins of class pride.
