Love Above Pyramid's Plateau is an Egyptian romantic social drama that puts a human face on the housing and financial crises squeezing young Egyptians out of the dream of marriage. A young working man, unable to afford a proper wedding or a home, convinces his fiancée to marry in secret. With nowhere private to meet, the ancient plateau above the Pyramids becomes their unlikely refuge — until the morality police arrest them on charges of indecency in a public space. The film uses this tragicomic situation to ask hard questions about economic inequality, social conservatism, and why the most basic aspirations of an entire generation remain painfully out of reach.
الحب فوق هضبة الهرم هو فيلم دراما مصري صدر سنة 1986، من إخراج عاطف الطيب، وسيناريو مصطفى محرم، الفيلم مقتبس عن الرواية التي تحمل نفس الاسم للكاتب الكبير نجيب محفوظ، ومن بطولة أحمد زكي، وآثار الحكيم، وأحمد راتب، ونجاح الموجي. يعالج الفيلم مشكلة عدم قدرة الشباب على الزواج بسبب ضعف الدخل وعدم العثور على عمل مناسب أو السكن، وذلك من خلال قصة شاب وفتاة يتزوجان سرًا نظرًا لعدم القدرة على تكاليف الحياة الباهظة، وحين حاولا ممارسة الحياة الزوجية الطبيعية لم يجدا أفضل من جدران الأهرامات ساترا لهما حتى وقعا في قبضة بوليس الآداب.
