Overview
Al Zouj Al Mohtaram is an Egyptian comedy film that takes a sharp and satirical look at pathological jealousy. Na'iema's husband is so consumed by unfounded suspicion that he forbids her from leaving home and cuts the telephone line. When a harmless visit from a repairman leads to a catastrophic misunderstanding, the husband returns home, jumps to conclusions, and impulsively divorces his innocent wife. The film uses farce and dark comedy to expose how jealousy, unchecked by reason, can destroy a marriage and ruin lives.
