Sad Melody (Al-Nagham Al-Hazin) is an Egyptian romantic drama set in the glittering yet emotionally fraught world of cabarets and casinos. Professor Mahmoud, who first recognized the talent of the dancer Samia and fell in love with her, suffers in silence as she treats him only as a friend. Everything shifts when the singer Adel joins their circle and captures Samia's heart. Stung by jealousy, Mahmoud engineers Adel's transfer to a rival casino — but the scheme backfires when Adel meets a new love interest named Layla at his new venue, leaving Samia heartbroken over the separation that Mahmoud's own jealousy set in motion. A tender and melancholy film about love, envy, and the unintended consequences of trying to control the hearts of others.
