El Gentel is an Egyptian thriller that follows Rashad, a poor young man devoted to Shahrazad — the woman he loves — and her sister Souad, who harbours secret feelings for him. As the three travel back to Cairo from Assiut, a chance encounter upends their journey entirely: they come across a wealthy man dying in his car from a gunshot wound. With his last breaths, the man entrusts them with a suitcase containing two million Egyptian pounds and a dying request — deliver the money to a woman named Sohair in a village on the North Coast. What follows is a tense, danger-laden road mission that tests loyalties and uncovers secrets none of them were prepared for.
