A capable Egyptian actor and director, he was born in the Bab al-Shaareya area in Cairo in 1921. His father died when he was 6 months old, so his mother completed the process of raising him and his three siblings, the youngest of whom. He loved acting since he was a student in primary school when he was chosen to lead the theatrical troupe at school. He studied the art of sculpture and engraving at the School of Applied Arts and worked as a teacher before joining the Higher Institute for the Arts of Arab Acting in 1945 in his second class and graduating from it in 1949. After graduation, Madbouly joined the (George Abyad) troupe and then the (Fatima Rushdi) troupe. Madbouly worked as a writer, actor, and theater director in many plays that he created through the groups that he founded or co-founded. Among his most famous plays are (The Inspector General, The Artistic Secretary, I, He, and She, The People Below, Raya and Sakina). Abdel Moneim Madbouly entered cinema in the late fifties, and his first film was (My Happy Days), after which his cinematic works continued, which ran in parallel with his theatrical activity. Among his most prominent films are: (The Grandson, Mawlid Ya Dunya, We Are on the Bus, A Romantic Pursuit, and A Quarter of a Dozen Villains). Abdel Moneim Madbouly died in 2006 at the age of 85 due to pneumonia and a severe drop in blood circulation.
