Overview
Mr. K is an Egyptian comedy set in the lavish Villa Sonsen, home to the wealthy Kismat Hanim and her entourage of relatives and staff — her brother-in-law Kamel, his son the singer Fouad, her business manager Qadri, and her secretary Laila. The household revolves not around any of these characters, but around Kismat's pampered dog, whom she insists everyone treat with the utmost devotion. The result is a satirical scramble as the villa's residents compete to curry favor by attending to the animal's every whim. The film uses this absurd premise to gently mock social hierarchies, servility, and the peculiar power dynamics wealth creates.
