Overview
Fatat Al-Isti'rath (The Showgirl) is a classic Egyptian romantic comedy film starring Ahmed Aluwi as a wealthy young man whose reputation is under attack by a theatrical troupe's satirical magazine pieces. Rather than confront them directly, Ahmed infiltrates the group's rehearsals under the assumed name Ahmed Ashmawi, letting them believe he is merely the rich man's lookalike. As he funds their production and grows closer to the company, he falls for one of the actresses — who returns his feelings without suspecting his true identity.
