أصل وصورة, is a 1963 Egyptian movie, directed by Abdel Moneim Madbouly, and starring Abdel Moneim Madbouly, Mohamed Awad. Nagwa Salem.
أصل وصورة is a sharp Egyptian satirical comedy exposing the hypocrisy lurking behind the façades of the press and art worlds. At its center is Ghazal, an art editor who lavishes praise on any artist willing to buy him dinner and savages those who ignore him. His colleague Abdulaziz fabricates stories to protect his paycheck, while the paper itself is owned by an ignorant scrap dealer playing at being a man of culture. The satire reaches its peak when Abdulaziz recruits Abu Al-Enein, a local undertaker, dresses him in a maharaja's costume, and stages a press conference to salvage the newspaper's financial reputation. A biting comedy about media corruption, celebrity culture, and the gap between image and reality.
