Struggle with Death is an Egyptian film that combines science fiction with dark comedy in an unconventional premise. Three strangers from vastly different walks of life — a police officer, a dancer, and a football player — are involved in a catastrophic accident on a desert road and rushed to hospital in critical condition. Doctors manage to save their lives through heart transplants, but the new hearts come from surprising donors: the police officer receives the heart of a pickpocket, while the dancer is given the heart of a wrestler. As their personalities undergo remarkable transformations, the film raises a quietly philosophical question about identity: is a person shaped more by who they are or by the heart beating inside them?
