Khodni Maak is an Egyptian romantic drama set in a bustling port neighborhood. Sailor Ahmed is deeply in love with his neighbor Aziza, but their path to marriage is blocked by Aziza's mother Shweikar, who holds Ahmed responsible for her husband's death — a diver who suffocated underwater when his air supply machine malfunctioned during a dive. Consumed by grief and blame, Shweikar refuses to accept Ahmed and instead pushes Aziza toward Jaber, the local café owner. The film weaves together themes of forbidden love, grief, and moral accusation against the backdrop of Egypt's vibrant coastal working-class life.
