Love and Pride is an Egyptian romantic drama film that centers on Zizi, a young woman whose father is plunged into financial crisis and whose fiancé Adel abandons her. To save face, she introduces Hussein as her fiancé and promptly marries him, though she makes clear she does not love him and they agree to divorce after a suitable interval. But as the arrangement plays out, Zizi discovers that Hussein has been quietly helping her father navigate his financial troubles — without saying a word to her. The revelation quietly shifts everything, as genuine feeling begins to emerge from what began as a marriage of convenience. The film's story was previously adapted in 1940 as Qalb El-Mar'a and in 1954 as Irham Dumu'i.
