An Egyptian film producer and director, he began his film career as an assistant director and then worked as a production manager for Aziz Amir Company and a production manager for Nahhas Studio and the International Production Company. He was the first to present Arabic films with color scope. Among his most prominent works are the film (The Empty Pillow) by Abdel Halim Hafez, the film (Madq Alley) by the international writer Naguib Mahfouz, and the film (Wa Islamah). He was the first husband of the artist Lubna Abdel Aziz after his conversion to Islam, and he was the one who opened the doors of art to her. He received a certificate of appreciation for the film The Thin Thread at the Tehran Film Festival in 1971. He received a Special Merit Award in 1975.
