The Great Love is an Egyptian drama that places its protagonist in an agonising moral predicament. Samia, a married woman and mother to young Laila, is told she has cancer and has little time left. Determined to shield her husband Ahmed and daughter from the pain, she keeps the diagnosis secret — and goes a step further, quietly engineering a bond between Ahmed and his colleague Elham, hoping to secure his future happiness after she is gone. The plan works, but Samia finds herself consumed by jealousy even as she orchestrates it. When her doctor discovers the diagnosis was wrong and she is in fact healthy, the emotional chaos she has set in motion threatens to undo everything she holds dear.
