He graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1959.
He played secondary roles in a large number of cinematic films, such as: (The Forbidden) 1965, (The House of Female Students) 1967, (Diary of a Deputy in the Countryside) 1969, (Night and Bars) 1973, (Circle of Revenge) 1976, (The Oracle) 1981, (The Time of Hatem Zahran) 1987, (Hanafi Al-Bahha) 1990,... And others.
He also participated in a number of television series, such as: (Bitter Honey) 1966, (Sleepy) 1970, (Cairo and the People) 1972, (How to Lose a Million Pounds) 1978, (Ala Al-Zaybak) 1985, (Al-Wasiya) 1990.
Abdel Salam Muhammad also performed many theatrical works, including: (Al-Sabena) 1962, (Al-Namous Bridge) 1964, (The Safety Railway) 1964, (Bir Al-Salam) 1966, (Al-Zeer Salem) 1972, but the opportunity of his life on stage came when the late director Karam Mutawa chose him to embody the character of Al-Farfour in the play (Al-Farafir) written by Youssef Idris.
