Overview

Imbratoriyyat Al Muallim is an Egyptian social comedy that gently satirizes the obsession with having a male heir and its absurd social consequences. Master Syed is married to three women who have collectively given him twelve daughters, yet he remains fixated on fathering a son. He sets his sights on his neighbor Zahra, hoping a new match will break the streak — unaware that Zahra has an entirely different agenda: persuading him to support a family planning center in the neighborhood. Meanwhile, a genuine romance blossoms between Zahra and the lawyer Atef. When Syed finally sees through the situation, he must reckon with his own illusions and consider a very different future.
