Overview
El Motamared is an Egyptian social drama centered on Hashem, a young man who flees Upper Egypt to escape his family's relentless demand that he avenge his father's murder by killing the killer's son. Seeking a fresh start in Alexandria, Hashem finds work at the port and falls in love with a law student. But the port hides dangerous secrets — Hashem uncovers a smuggling network and takes a stand against it. His resolve is tested when Yahia, the very man he is expected to kill, arrives at the port. Torn between family honor and his own conscience, Hashem is forced to navigate a moral conflict that grows more perilous with every passing day.
