An Egyptian actor, he worked as a finance employee, but he became a professional actor. He graduated from the Acting Institute in 1949, and among his classmates at the Acting Institute were artists: (Abdel Moneim Ibrahim, Salah Sarhan, Abdel Moneim Madbouly, Nahed Samir, Adly Kaseb). He worked in theatre, including his plays: (Ahmed El-Adl), (The Doghari Family), (The Mayor), and (Sikkat Al-Salamah), and in the television series: (Witness and Tears). He won the Best Actor Award in 1984 for the movie (I Do Not Lie, but I Pretty). He played the role of the father in his many films, including the role of the father of (Najla Fathi) who sacrifices his daughter in (My Blood, My Tears, and My Smile). He also played the role of the simple farmer who lives in the city. The role of the rational, socially oppressed father, such as his role in (Meet There).
