
An Egyptian actor, director, and screenwriter, born in the village of Baltaj, administratively affiliated with Gharbia Governorate, in 1910. His family moved to Cairo two months after his birth. He began his artistic career in the school theater, acting and directing. He studied at the American University in Cairo, worked at the Ramses Theater, then worked at Studio Misr after its establishment. He studied under director Niazi Mostafa, who at that time headed the studio’s editing department and worked as his assistant at (Si Omar). And (Wives Factory) in 1941. He directed documentary films for some ministries, and produced a special issue of the Hajj newspaper Misr. As for his first cinematic film as a director, it was the film (Women in Danger). After that, he presented nearly 30 works, the most famous of which were: (The Seventh Wife) with Mohamed Fawzi, and the film (Melody of Loyalty). In terms of writing the script and dialogue, he participated in approximately 12 works such as: (The Reckless) with Fatima Rushdi, (Confused Hearts) with Zahra Al-Ola. He also participated in acting in the play Majnun Laila in 1961. He worked in Kuwait from 1961. 1962, and remained there for three years. He died in 1972 at the age of 62.
