Struggle of the Heroes is an Egyptian historical drama film set in 1947, during the cholera epidemic that swept through Egypt's rural villages. Dr. Shukri is assigned to a remote village and quickly discovers that disease is only one of the community's afflictions — the other is the tyranny of Adel Bey, the local feudal lord who exploits villagers as forced labor and uses his powerful connections to commit those who resist him to a psychiatric hospital. Caught between fighting an epidemic and confronting entrenched social injustice, Shukri finds himself in a battle on two fronts. A powerful period drama about courage, corruption, and the cost of doing what is right in a society rigged against the powerless.
