An actor and singer, his passion for literature and art began when he was a student at Khedive High School in the late 1930s. He became the institute's singer after Mohamed Abdel Wahab was dismissed from the Arab Music Institute. He loved musical theater, so he joined the National Acting Group in the 1930s. He was artistic director of the popular theater group and was a critic. He wrote two films, Aida, on the Theater of Life. His works include Clash of Heroes, Hanan. He married the artist Najma Ibrahim. He suffered from cancer and died in mid-1984.
