The Rebels, is a 1968 Egyptian movie, directed by Tawfiq Saleh, and starring Shoukry Sarhan, Zizi Mostafa, Shafiq Nour ElDein. with a runtime of 125 minutes.
The Rebels is an Egyptian social drama following Dr. Aziz, a sick physician admitted to a remote sanatorium in the middle of the desert. Once inside, he witnesses a stark and unjust division: a privileged ward where wealthy patients receive full care and comfort, and an overcrowded ward for the poor, stripped of basic treatment, water, and human dignity. Unable to stay silent, Dr. Aziz allies with the neglected patients and leads a rebellion demanding justice and equal treatment. The film is a bold critique of class inequality and institutional injustice, anchored by a morally driven protagonist who refuses to accept a system that values wealth over human life.
