
An Egyptian actor, born in 1927. He studied at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and graduated from it in 1947 in the institute’s first class. He played several secondary roles in theater until his first participation in cinema was in the movie (Zahra) starring (Alawya Jamil) and (Salah Mansour). A year later, he participated in the movie (Bulbul Effendi), starring (Sabah) and (Farid Al-Atrash). He participated in a larger role in (Days and Nights) in 1955, in a role of an evil character in a film starring (Abdel Halim Hafez), then with (Farid Shawqi) and (Hoda Sultan) in (Port Said) in 1957. After that, he participated in many works, including (Have Mercy, My Love), (We Are the Students), (My Mother-in-Law is Malak) in the role of Tarif, and in the movie (Beginning and End) about the story of the great writer (Naguib Mahfouz). He also worked extensively in the fifties on radio. He continued to provide a large number of supporting roles from the mid-1940s until the early 1990s in cinema. He also participated in the series (Sunbul after a Million, The Journey of Mr. Abu Al-Ala Al-Bishri, The Night of Fatima’s Arrest, The Al-Doghari Family, There is No God but God) and others. He mentioned that he also directed some plays, including: (The Safety Railway) and (The Beginning and the End), and he served as director of the National Theater for a period. He died in 1993 at the age of 66. He dubbed the character of Diodeci in the famous movie (Omar Al-Mukhtar).
