Overview
Agony over Smiling Lips is an Arabic romantic drama that places its heroine Shahira at a painful crossroads between heart and mind. Bound since childhood to Essam, her first love and intended husband, she finds her resolve shaken when Mustafa — a successful, affluent businessman — enters her life and offers her a future of comfort and prosperity. Rather than make a clean choice between her childhood sweetheart and a man who can give her the world, Shahira attempts to hold onto both, setting in motion a slow-burning conflict between love and ambition.
