An Egyptian writer and screenwriter, he was born in the Abdeen neighborhood in Cairo in 1940. He is a graduate of the Ibrahimiyya School in Garden City, after which he joined the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University, Department of Accounting, from which he graduated in 1963. He was a member of the university’s acting team, in addition to being one of the members of the college’s acting team. After his graduation, he joined the Ministry of Finance, but it did not satisfy his ambition and dreams, which he began when he was in college by writing a play that he acted in with his college classmates, while his first television series was (Fugitive from Days), through which he was able to establish the foundations and rules for writing television series, and through it many art stars became famous, such as (Abdullah Ghaith). He contributed to advancing film production since 1968, after the nationalization of the Egyptian film industry and the migration of artists to Beirut and Turkey. In 1974, he returned to theatrical writing through the play (For a Handful of Women) and the play (The Married People) in 1976, and he followed it with several plays until he also experimented with radio writing when he presented the comedy series (The Successful Raise His Hand), among his most prominent works as well (The Case of Samiha Badran, The Rapists, Al-Fajjala).
