A Handful of Days is an Egyptian social drama that traces the unraveling of a family under economic and emotional strain. Kamel, a mid-level official, loses his job following an accident, forcing his wife Widad to take a secretarial position at his former company just to keep the household afloat. When Kamel grows suspicious of an affair between Widad and her employer, jealousy consumes him and he divorces her, leaving Cairo with their son. Widad eventually marries the manager, but her troubles are far from over when a colleague named Hamdy attempts to assault her. The film is a taut portrait of marital fragility, economic vulnerability, and the cascading consequences of misplaced distrust.
