Si Omar is a classic Egyptian comedy film starring the legendary Naguib El Rihani as Gaber Effendi, a modest employee on the estate of Omar Al-Alfi who is dismissed after uncovering financial fraud. By sheer coincidence, he ends up at the Al-Alfi family's Cairo home — only to discover he bears a striking resemblance to Omar Bey, the family's long-absent patriarch believed to be in India. What follows is a delightful comedy of mistaken identity as Gaber is embraced by the family and even drawn into marriage, until the real Omar surfaces and attempts to exploit the situation for his own gain. A timeless gem of Arabic cinema comedy.
