A theatrical actor, he worked in cinema since its inception. He moved between more than one theatrical troupe. He worked in the troupe of George Abyad, Salama Hegazy and Munira El Mahdia. He was the first founder of the Actors Syndicate and was its first captain. He appeared in evil roles in many of his films.
In 1935, he joined the Egyptian Arab troupes. In 1942, he worked in the Egyptian acting troupes. Among his plays are The Little Rebellion, Judgment Day, One Night of a Thousand Nights, Aziza and Yunus,
