An Egyptian actor, born in the Al-Gamaleya neighborhood in Cairo in 1893. He joined writers in his childhood and memorized the Qur’an. He began his artistic career as a monologist and became famous for the patriotic monologues that he wrote and composed. Then he joined many theater groups, where he worked with Najib Al-Rihani and the Youssef Ezz El-Din troupe. He broke into the field of cinema by participating in the film (A Kiss in the Desert) in 1927, after which his works continued until the 1950s, and among his most prominent works are (Baba Amin, Flowers and Thorns, Laila Bint Al-Aghina). In addition to his work in theater and radio, he formed an artistic duo with Mukhtar Hussein. He married at an advanced age for the first time and gave birth to his only son. He passed away in 1959.
