
The singer of the forties and fifties, whose birthplace extends to the city of Mallawi, Minya Governorate in Upper Egypt, was born on August 22, 1923, and her father’s work as an artistic director within the Fawzi Munib band had a great influence on her entering the world of art, especially since she was accompanied by her mother who accompanied her father on his artistic trips throughout Egypt. Badia was able to prove her talent at the age of four when she danced and then left dancing to become a singer, where he trained her. Singer and composer Zakaria Ahmed taught her singing. She succeeded in joining the famous dancer Badia Masabni’s troupe, and performed light shows and comic monologues. Then she participated in Ali Al-Kassar’s troupe, and her participation in Hussein Al-Meligy’s troupe, which later became called “Badia Sadiq’s troupe.” She married the artist Abdel-Ghani Al-Najdi, who for a long time composed sketches and plays for her troupe. They had their only son, Khaled, who He lived in Australia and they separated. Then she married the musician Ahmed Ali around 1952 and had five children with him. During that period she worked on the radio as a singer, and she performed two songs every month until Mohamed Abdel Wahab was impressed by her voice, so he presented her with him in his movie (Happy Day), and she sang the melody of (How Sweet is the Farmer’s Life), then she participated in the movie (Under the Arms) 1940, and sang with her voice only in the movie (Si Omar) 1941 and the movie (Lucky Night) 1945. Badia Sadiq was able to present all types of singing, including roles, taqtaqiq, poems, and operettas, such as Al-Dandurma, Masoud Al-Hattab, and Lover of the Nile, and patriotic and sentimental songs. She had masterpieces in popular works, and her famous song on the radio was (Oh, how beautiful is your beauty, O bride). She has a full sister who sings, Kawkab Sadiq, the mother of actress Isaad Younes. Badia Sadiq moved away from the artistic scene, retired when she was 70 years old in the early eighties, and returned to Egypt in the early nineties of the last century. One of her well-known works is her role in the song “Dandruma”. She died on the evening of Thursday, January 7, 2010.
