Stillness of the Storm is an Arabic family drama set in motion by the sudden death of a mother, which exposes the hidden fault lines of a family long held together by her presence. Her daughter Sawsan sets aside her own romantic feelings for Wahid, her brother's friend, to take charge of the household. Meanwhile, her brother Shukri becomes entangled with a married woman named Alfat, and their father neglects his children in pursuit of the widowed Fatma from his office. Sawsan quietly shoulders the burden of keeping the family from dissolving completely, in a story that honors the silent sacrifices made in the name of duty and love.
