An Egyptian director, born on March 6, 1916. He began his artistic life by practicing translation and artistic criticism since 1937. He worked as an assistant director since 1939 with a number of directors, including Kamal Selim and Kamel Al-Tilmisani. He worked as head of the scenario department at Studio Misr and then as director of production, where he gained great experience in directing. He also contributed to the founding of the Higher Institute of Cinema and its library, and he taught scenario material to the institute’s students. He died on November 18, 1971.
