
Born on February 3, 1913 in Kafr Bolin, Kom Hamada center, Beheira Governorate. A distinguished Egyptian writer and writer. He is considered one of the symbols of the Arabic novel. Due to the modernity of his style and its realism derived from the Egyptian environment, most of his works were turned into cinematic films and television series, the most famous of which is the story “The Olive Branch,” which was turned into a film of the same name in 1962, and whose characters were embodied by the artists “Ahmed Mazhar,” “Soad Hosni,” and “Omar Hariri.” Our great writer graduated from Dar Al-Ulum Higher School in 1937, and his first novel was published four years before his graduation in 1933. Immediately after his graduation, he joined the editorship of the Arabic Language Academy magazine and remained there until he became editor-in-chief. He received many awards, the most important of which was the Order of the Republic from President Anwar Sadat, which was awarded to him after his death. His novel “After Sunset” was selected among the 100 best Arab novels. He was a member of the board of directors Writers Association before his death on June 30, 1970. A museum has been built for him next to his shrine in his village in Kafr Bolin.
